When Family Interventions Go Wrong

The vast majority of family interventions for drug or alcohol abuse have happy endings, but it's no secret that some interventions do fail to have the intended effect. There are many reasons why this may happen. Sometimes the addict just isn't ready to accept that he or she has a problem, sometimes it's because of poor planning, and sometimes it comes down to failed execution of the plan. Whatever causes a failed intervention, it's not the end of the story. There are things that family and friends of addicts can do even after hitting this low point.
